An independent guide to Trend Analytics

The trading day starts at 4 AM. You don't have to start it alone.

Trend Analytics is the trading community founded by PlayBookTrades. Members get real-time trade alerts, a live trading session every morning, end-of-day recaps and a Discord full of traders working the same market. This guide covers what's inside, what it costs and what to know before you join.

Free tier available. Paid plans start at $58.99 a month on annual billing.

What's inside

Seven things a VIP membership puts in front of you.

VIP is sold as two halves, Signals and Chatrooms, or together as All Access. Each item below is marked with the half it belongs to.

  • Real-time trade alerts

The team's own trades, sent as they happen: small-cap day trades, mid and large-cap swings, options day and swing trades, earnings plays, and long-term investment ideas with research write-ups.

    Signals
  • Live morning trading

A daily Discord session from 6:50 to 8:00 AM ET where the educators share what is on their watchlist and trade in front of members.

    Chatrooms
  • End-of-day live recaps

A live Zoom class after the close that goes back through the day's trades, so you see the reasoning and not only the result.

    Signals
  • Scanners and info bots

Real-time news alerts, momentum scanners and options-flow feeds delivered straight into Discord.

    Chatrooms
  • Private VIP chatrooms

Members-only rooms shared with the educators and other VIP traders, plus priority support.

    Chatrooms
  • Small-account challenge

A challenge account traded in front of members. Trend Analytics reports growing it from $60 to more than $110,000 in 23 months and says broker statements are shared inside. That is their reported result. I have not verified it, and it is not a typical outcome.

    Signals
  • In-house psychologist

Mindset support from a psychologist on the team. One-on-one psychology consultations are listed as coming soon.

    Chatrooms

Anatomy of an alert

Every alert comes with a plan.

Trend Analytics says each alert includes an entry, a stop loss and price targets, followed by updates as the team scales out or exits. This is how that reads.

# trade-alerts Illustrative example

$XYZ took some at 3.10, stop under 2.85. Looking for 3.40 / 3.55 / 3.70+

Updates follow in the thread as the team scales out or exits.

  1. Target 33.70+
  2. Target 23.55
  3. Target 13.40
  4. Entry3.10
  5. Stop loss2.85

$XYZ is a made-up ticker with made-up prices. This shows the format only. It is not a real alert or a recommendation.

  • Entry

The price where the analyst got in, so you know what the trade was built on.

  • Stop loss

The level where the idea is wrong. The risk is defined before the trade plays out.

  • Targets

Where the analyst plans to take profit. Several targets means selling in steps.

  • Updates

Follow-up messages as the team scales out of the position or closes it.

Why it stands out

It teaches you how to trade, not only what to trade.

Plenty of services send tickers. These are the things that set this one apart, going by what Trend Analytics publishes about itself.

  1. You see the work, not just the call

Mornings are traded live and the day ends with a recap class. You get to watch how decisions are made and then reviewed, which is where most of the learning happens.

  2. The stated goal is independence

Trend Analytics describes its mission as giving retail traders the knowledge and tools to trade on their own. The courses, the recaps and the psychologist all point the same way.

  3. It covers more than one style

Small-cap day trades move fast. Swing trades, options and long-term ideas run on slower clocks, which Trend Analytics says makes them easier to follow alongside a full-time job.

  4. The bench is deep

According to Trend Analytics, its community includes former hedge fund managers, previously licensed financial advisors, ex-bank traders and veteran retail traders, with dedicated educators for small caps, options and macro investing.

  5. You can start for nothing

The free tier has beginner videos, an archive of trade recap recordings and a community chat. You can look around before paying for anything.

Before you join

Five things worth knowing first.

A recommendation is only useful if it is honest. None of this is hidden, but it is easy to miss.

  • All sales are final

The terms of service say there are no refunds, including on renewals. If you are unsure, start on the free tier or a monthly plan before committing to a year.

  • There is no free trial of VIP

Trend Analytics does not offer trial weeks. The free tier and the monthly plan are the low-commitment ways in.

  • Courses are billed separately

Trend Analytics University courses and private 1-on-1 classes are not part of any VIP plan.

  • It is education, not advice

Trend Analytics states that it is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer or financial institution. Alerts show what its analysts are doing. Your trades are your own decisions.

  • Trading can lose money

Small caps and options are volatile, and you can lose everything you put in. Nobody's past results, the team's included, predict yours.

“At Trend Analytics, you'll never face the markets alone.”

From the founders' letter on trendanalytics.com

Founded by PlayBookTrades

Dion, known online as PlayBookTrades, started trading in 2020 after six years in the military. Self-taught, he focused on momentum trades, breakouts, market trends and trader psychology, then founded Trend Analytics so other retail traders would not have to learn by themselves.

He runs it with co-founders Tyrone, Franky and JY and a group of educators covering small caps, options and macro investing.
